Do I really need an ipad?

Ever since the ipad has launched last year, I have been thinking of the ipad and whether I should plunk down the cash for one. At the time I was thinking of buying an ipad, I decided to build a gaming PC, because I figured I can get more value for the long term and less likely to be obsolete in a short time. Now the question has come back to me, since a friend of mine had acquired an ipad and hinted for me to get one.

Do I really need an ipad? What I have in my possession is a total of 4 PC's; 1 old Dell laptop, 2 old Athlon 64 Desktops and my gaming PC. I am thinking that if I am really serious about buying a ipad I should sell my laptop and one of my older desktops to cover the cost. My question is why would I need one if it can do the exact same things I can do on laptop or desktops as on a ipad like twitter, facebook, listen to music, watch videos, update my website(which I am lacking of) and browse internet? But maybe if I found other uses for the ipad, then it would make sense to buy one. What I use to watch my videos is shared from my PC to my TV through my Xbox 360 and then on my Android based phone I use Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, Google Reader other nifty apps.

I do use Zinio Reader which you can subscribe to magazines and I read on my computer. They do have an ipad app which would be cool to read them as they are available. I know that Squarespace the place I do my website on has an ipad app that you can edit and make new blog posts on it. That would be nice to have.

The bottom line is that I would be buying one that does the same things differently in that you use a touch screen. A lot of the functionality is far as touchscreen is similar (from what I gathered) to my Android phone. I guess the only big advantages for me is screen size and battery life versus my phone. The only missing thing I need is the app for Squarespace on Android for my phone (which I am waiting for), that would make the difference to not needing an ipad at all.

The ipad would be a nice device to have, its just for now it doesn't make sense to have one.

Red Dead Redemption

I have recently acquired a copy of Red Dead Redemption. I really enjoy this game. The game based on GTA 4's game play platform. You play as a rugged American cowboy who want revenge from his old partners.

I enjoy this game more so than GTA 4, because there is more space to roam around the games world in the sense that there is little to no obstacles in your way to get where you need to go. The main plot of this game is pretty awesome, it leaves you guessing of what is going to happen next. One of the awesome things you can do in this game is "Duel" someone, it is so cool. This game reminds me so much of the old Clint Eastwood movie A Fist Full of Dollars. Though the plot of this movie are different than the game.

I have a question for you people, what is your favorite western type movie or TV show? Let me know in the comments.

My favorite new Rock Band.

The rock band thatI have recently purchased from itunes is the album called Avenged Sevenfold by Avenged Sevenfold. The First track starts off the album hard and continues throughout the whole album. Every song has great guitar work and great rhythms all the way through. If you like hard rock these are the guys to listen to.  http://www.avengedsevenfold.com/

Windows Media Center.

I have recently setup my Windows 7 machine for WMC. Its a pretty good program that Microsoft has made, unfortunately when I setup my Xbox 360 as a MC extender a program on my computer was causing the video being played on the xbox to stutter which was a huge pain. The program that was causing the stuttering is ASUS EPU-6 Engine which helps me control the fans in the computer. Therefore make a quieter computer and not hear a jet plane about to launch. What I am going to do is install Tversity which does the same job as WMC but without the fancy UI that WMC extender has on the xbox. I have heard good things about Tversity, so we will see.
