Camaro Saga

Finally my Camaro Saga has ended. I had changed the differential gear oil like I had posted earlier. That did not change a thing. I was then convinced that my pilot bearing was worn and that was the cause of the vibration. At that same time I got the clutch changed. Vibration was still there. My mechanic pulled the driveshaft out and took it to drive line shop to see how balanced it was. Well the drive line place said it was dangerously out of balance. They offered to build a aluminum one for a high price, but I ordered a used one from David T's Camaro and Firebird in Edmonton for $100. They checked that one to make sure it was balanced as well and it was. It was put back together and now it's very smooth going now. It still has a gear noises because the brand new gears and the Detroit Tru-Trac is trying break in.
My suspicion on why the driveshaft was bent. It must have been dropped and installed without realizing. Looking back at all this grief it would been cheaper to buy the Moser Engineering 12 bolt Rear End Assembly. And just install it in a timely fashion. At least it's fixed now. My plan for next spring/summer is to just drive and put some mileage on the car.

On a side note I bought new Moser 26 spline axles and they were put in while installation of the Detroit Tru-Trac.

Corsair Hydro Series H60

This past Sunday I installed the Corsair watercooling system on my gaming pc. It was quite easy to put together. It was just time consuming. I had to take the motherboard out of the case completely to place the heatsink side of the system on to the CPU. When I was going to mount the radiator to the exhaust case fan spot at the back, I realized that I bought the wrong system for my size of case. I decided to mount the the radiator on the door which had an opening for a fan. I worked not too bad. I just have to be careful when opening the door to not take the door off too quickly. I only took a few pictures of this pc mod because I was only focused on getting it done rather flapping pictures every little thing I did.

This water cooling system turned out to be louder than the other heatsink because of the pump running to circulate the water, but less annoying. It would make a ticking sound because the fan blades would hit the copper fins.

Maybe in the future I will get a Full Tower case to accomodate the radiator size and the spot it was intended to be installed on.

Edmonton Expo

This past weekend I travelled down to Edmonton for Comic-con. It was an awesome event in which I had seen people dressed up in costumes. All kinds of characters were there like Batman, Catwoman, Haley Quinn and Bane. I had seen someone dressed up as Sheppard from Mass Effect franchise. I also seen a group of people dressed as the characters from Legend of Korra which was very cool. And I noticed that someone dressed as a Browncoat from Firefly as I was walking in the opposite direction that was cool.
The main attraction for me there was getting a autograph from Jewel Staite, she played the mechanic on the TV show Firefly and movie Serenity. I went to her panel later on Day 1. She is a very nice person and gracious that part of her job is to come to convention's. In her panel she answered some questions from the audience, some were about her time on Firefly and Star Gate Atlantis. They were funny too.
On the convention floor I had boughten a few t-shirts, a Jayne hat and a couple of artwork photos by Mike Sass who does the artwork for Bioware games.
While I was at the convention I also went to a panel on the Mass Effect Universe, which featured the cinematic designer's and writer's of the Mass Effect Trilogy. One question from the audience that was the funniest was "What was the hardest obstacle you have had while making Mass Effect?" They said "Making the game for the PlayStation 3" The crowd roar in laughter and cheered. It was pretty interesting panel to see the people who made this great trilogy.
This expo was really organized and nicely setup. The concession's were setup outside of the main floor and huge hallways for crowds to line up at. Rhetoric volunteers at the expo knew what they were doing also. Mind you this convention is pretty small compared to Calgary Expo earlier this year, because of the guests they had.
What I want to do is buy a Viper pilot flight suit from Battlestar Galactica to a convention. Hopefully I will be able to afford it before Calgary Expo next year.

My Favorite Soundtracks

Here is my list of the Favorite Soundtracks:

The Dark Knight by Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard: I love the soundtrack to this movie. When you listen to this one, you can follow the movie through the music. In lots of ways its a perfect Batman soundtrack. When I read a Batman Comic, I can play parts of the soundtrack in my head. Its a really well done traditional movie soundtrack.

Tron Legacy by Daft Punk: This soundtrack is great too. Daft Punk did a great job with this soundtrack. Its one of my soundtracks because it transports me to the digital frontier that the movie introduces.

Shadow of the Colassus by Kow Otani: I love this soundtrack. This one comes from the Playstation 2 videogame. I enjoy this soundtrack because it is very easy to listen to and pretty positive beats to it. Also its music that I can relax to.

SSD Install

Last weekend I had installed my newly purchased Intel 330 Series 120GG SSD which cost $110 from Newegg.ca. Here is a picture of the drive unopened in box.

Here is the drive in opened box.

This is what all comes in box!

When I was putting the drive in the case I had to figure out how the adapter plate and the screws work on my case, which in the end was pretty slick. In the process of putting the drive in case I took the front case fan out and blew the dust out. There was alot of dust on that fan. Here is a picture of drive in the PC.

I installed a clean copy of Windows 7 on this drive. Installation was pretty quick, took no time before I could use Windows again. I backed my other spinning hard drive and formated it. I setup that drive as extra storage for like music and videos. Here is what it looked like when I was installing the new clean OS.

Here is a video of how fast the SSD boots from the login screen.
